Domaine Henry Pellé (not Henri!) is a wine estate in the upper Loire Valley. They have 40 hectares of vineyards. the vines planted in the vineyard are sauvignon blanc for the white wines and pinot noir for the red wines.
Domaine Henry Pellé makes wine from two appellations: Menetou-Salon and Sancerre. Both are mainly white wine producers, but they also make a bit of red wine. The vines grow primarily on the white kimmeridgian limestone and chalk soil, similar to what exists in Chablis. The winery is equipped with both stainless steel fermentation tanks and a number of wooden vats. Some oak barrels are also used for aging.
The Domain Henry Pellé winery is today run by Anne Pellé, after the untimely death of Eric Pellé in an acceident in 1995, together with the oenologue Julien Zermott.
